Sayings of life

There are many sayings in our lives that we hear and ponder,

but they don't really register until we live them.

For example the one that comes to my mind for our current time is

"we don't know what we have until we lose it".

For certainly we now realize our losses in this moment with the closure of so much in our lives.

The one I am effected by most is the love of the presence of my brethren and the presence of the Lord in our midst as we gathered together to worship Him!

I know the virtual worshipping is happening all over the world right now,

but it just isn't the same.

The apostle Paul must have thought such things as he found himself bound in a prison in Rome while all those he had helped were far away from him. How was this the will of the Lord?

Why wouldn't it be better to be free to be with the Saints rather than in this situation?

For he wrote this to some them...

Philippians 1:8 For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

His separation from them was certainly causing a great longing...

which only heightened his love and concern for their spiritual well being.

His concern was that he wasn't available in the flesh to encourage them...

to embolden them to carry on with conviction and righteousness.

This is how I feel right now for so many.

Please be safe... read and study... and meditated on the Lord!

As David said... Psalms 27:4 One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.

For we are the temple of God!
