“HOME SWEET HOME”

That phrase, which brings security and comfort to most of our hearts, really is defined in times like this!

The whole idea that we have a place... a sanctuary... into which we can go and feel secure is vital to our sanity... to our peace!

To the shepherds at the birth of Jesus it was said in... Luke 2:12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."

Did you catch that last phrase... “And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased."

That part is ignored by most, but the peace of God through Jesus the Christ is that Home... that sanctuary... in which we find comfort! It is the Sanctification of peace that Jesus offers in the Spirit as members of His body.

The apostle Paul said... Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Our Eyes are enlightened to know the hope we have in our sanctification of our home in Christ which gives us that peace He offers.

2 John 1 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

According to both truth and love God has granted us peace. Let us be comforted by the knowledge of the peace Jesus has granted us in the truth of the gospel of the Spirit of life as members of His body!

2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth. It was for this He called you through our gospel, that you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So then, brethren, stand firm and hold to the traditions which you were taught, whether by word of mouth or by letter from us. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

I am thankful for my spiritual home!
