Burden or Joy
What is a Burden... and what is Joy!
Certainly that depends on your perspective... your desire... your goal... your love!
Jesus showed his expectation for His disciples when He said... John 14:13 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
But He later added... John 15:10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love;”
He was clear what His position would be to those who showed their love through their lives for Him!
He continued in the same text to show the example of what He meant by using Himself as the example of His expectation... “just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.”
Jesus is always the perfect example. He did, despite the difficulty, exactly what His Father expected of Him. This proved to His Father that His love for Him was genuine... righteous... and pure! Therefore God and Jesus were one! One in purpose... one in works... one in Love!
The reason for His admonition was not to frighten His disciples. Quite the opposite... He wanted them to have and feel what He felt once He was able to overcome the flesh and accomplish in spirit what His Father had given Him to do for Him. “"These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”
The fulfillment of the purpose of God for us... is to know the same Joy that Jesus knew in His accomplishments for His Father and to desire that Joy in us in regard to our accomplishments for Him!
There is no better friend than Jesus!!!
John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. "You are My friends if you do what I command you.
We have a friend in Jesus!
